Daemon's Sanctuary is coming along nicely. We have our ducks in a row to start fundraising, we have our first venue lined up and we even have potential animals to start supporting. Things are looking really great and I am soooo excited! One more thing we needed to tackle was PR. We have Elaina who is cuddly and friendly but she is sometimes a bit rough when she wants attention so we have to restrain her a little bit. There is also me who half the population is afraid of for no apparent reason. There is Cairin who is out of the question anti-social. Minko is friendly enough but he hasn't had a whole lot of socializing. But then...there is one other....
It just so happened that mommy had some other connections in the works. Don't get me wrong, she does intend to use me and Elaina but she needs a smaller, calmer mascot for dealing with fragile donors. For instance, if we were to visit an old folks home, Elaina and I are a bit too rough right now for them to handle. We like to jump up and give kissies which might cause injuries to the more delicate folks. You woof what I mean? But good young mommy had a plan that not even daddy saw coming!
Daddy's sister has a male dog (Hobo) and his grandma has a female (Bella). They are the same breed although I will not disclose it until a little later. It is a small, cute breed that people swoon over. Even if they don't know what type of breed it is, generally, small dogs are attention grabbers. And fluffy but Elaina falls under that category! ;) Woofyways, Bella had her litter November 11, 2012. At first mommy nor daddy wanted to take on a puppy because daddy was really mad at his family's decision because they really could not care for more dogs at the time.

Fast forward a month and a half later when mommy had an epiphany. She jumped up out of her chair and looked at me with beaming eyes that I knew were full of passion. "I know who is going to be my new mascot, Sana," she exclaimed to me one afternoon. "Everyone loves puppies, it will be perfect!" I tried to get her to woof to daddy first but once mommy's mind is set there's not much anyone can do to change it. So I don't really think it mattered all that much. Next thing I knew, here comes mommy toting a tiny puppy in her arms and grinning from ear to ear.

All daddy could do when he found out was agree and love the puppy because now she is Daemon's Sanctuary's Mascot. Please help me in welcoming Maya to our rescue team! She is now 8 weeks old and a little firecracker! Keep up with our progress by subscribing to our blog by

Tell me why does mommy always find it necessary to take pictures when I'm sleeping?->
